Frequently Asked Questions
Welcome! Below are answers to common questions about working with me in a private pay counseling practice. If you have additional questions, feel free to reach out to me through email or phone/text, or during our free consultation call.
Do you accept insurance?
I do not bill insurance directly and am considered an out-of-network provider. However, I can provide a superbill for you to submit for possible reimbursement from your insurance provider. If you’re unsure if you have out-of-network benefits, you can contact your insurance company and ask whether or not they offer reimbursement for behavioral health, at what percentage, and whether you need to hit a deductible first. Many clients are able to file and receive a reimbursement from anywhere between 30-80% of session cost. Please consult with your insurance company to determine coverage options.
How does payment work?
All payments are processed securely through the SimplePractice client portal. I accept the following forms of payment:
Credit or debit cards
HSA/FSA cards (check with your provider to ensure therapy is a covered service)
A Credit Card Authorization Form is required to begin services and must be completed prior to your first appointment. Your card will be automatically billed after each session, unless other arrangements have been made in advance.
Why don’t you work directly with insurance?
Working outside of insurance allows us to:
Protect your privacy (no diagnosis required to begin therapy)
Customize your care without restrictions
Avoid limits on session frequency or duration
How do I schedule an appointment?
You can schedule an appointment by contacting me directly at elizabeth@mindful-healing-collective.org or call or text.. If you're a new client, I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to see if we're a good fit.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes! I offer HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions through the SimplePractice platform, which you can access easily from your phone, tablet, or computer.
What is your cancellation policy?
Appointments must be canceled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice. Late cancellations or no-shows will be charged the full session fee, as this time is reserved specifically for you.
What concerns do you work with?
I specialize in supporting clients dealing with:
Trauma
Panic attacks
Anxiety & Stress
Depression
Life Transitions
Relationship Issues
Parenting / Co-parenting concerns
Burnout & Work-Life Balance
Is therapy confidential?
Yes, confidentiality is strictly maintained in accordance with HIPAA laws. The only exceptions involve safety concerns or legal obligations, such as:
Imminent risk of harm to self or others
Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult
